I think it depends on how the wires are spliced into the circuit (haven't done this mod yet). If it's in parallel, then no big deal because current will always follow the path of least resistance.

well i had it for almost 8 months now... and the only bad thing is that it makes a brown mark on the bulb.. but thats it.. they still work great..just added strobes....hope they dont burn the strobe harness, its not like they can light up the road for ya.. its just like 25% lighter

yeah, i'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about. they do make hyperwhite bulbs that are the same wattage as stock though, you could go with those.

you're welcome guys

crazy - since you changed your sig, it doesn't make sense where it says 2 ladies and you have the speedo pic now
also, maybe take some of the words out? it's a bit long (I can't complain though because my pics are pretty big too)

If it's spliced in parallel with the ENTIRE harness, yes, but not inside the harness...
Lights don't have the same values as a regular load, they change resistance depending on the conditions, and with a 12V steady applied to it, a 55W bulb will ALWAYS draw 5A of current (It's actually a little less, don't want to break out my calculator heh)
Hrmm, but actually, now that I think about it, mebbe you are right... Because with a lower voltage (i.e. in series) it would increase the current applied to the entire circuit...
Hrmmm, nevermind, you're right, for the most part, and I'd have to see a schematic to know where the point of diminishing return is.

Here you go

http://www.custommaxima.com/Polarg.html

Bulb sizes in the corner lights are 1157 and 194's. Big bulbs = 1157, little bulbs = 194's...
If you wanna be like me you'll order the matching bumper lights too. Those are 1156's.
