BMW rims on a MAxima

My friend said he will sell me his stock BMW 17' rims with low pro wheels for my maxima. IF a rims is a 5 lug, would it always fit a maxima? I'm gonna see if it will fit tomorrow. Just want to know if it will screw anything up on my 98 maxima se.

BMWs are 5 X 120 bolt pattern... ours is 5 X 114.3

BMWs use 5 lug rims too, but they have a smaller bolt circle diameter than Nissan.

I'm just curious what style/year are they? Everyone is right though, they won't fit. Even if they did, why would you put BMW rims on a Maxima? There're so many nice rims in different sizes available for our cars.

what the hell? i don't understand...so even if two rims have the same amount of spokes or lugs or whatever (5), one may still not fit? why not? what does that last number mean? the length? i never thought about this when buying my chrome, although mines does fit....

Mines?

It's because the circle that the lugs create is a different size.

Not only do you need to match the distance between the lug holes, you also need to choose a correct offset. This is the distance from the mounting surface on the hub to the centerline of the wheel. Mounting a wheel with an offset that is not compatible with the car will change the driving characteristics of the car negatively. The site referred by chunger (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech) has a lot of info.

You should also look into the correct tire size if you are planning to change the size of your wheels as this can affect the calculation of speed and distance in your instrumentation. The same site has an excellent section on tire tech also.
