Steering in 97 Max different than my 96?

Well, I have been driving my 96 Max GXE for four months now. The only difference I have noticed in this one is that the steering is REAALY loose compared to my 97 GLE. I made sure the tires were inflated and that seems to be fine. Is there anything else that might be causing this problem? It is very loose on center compared to my 97. I was thinking maybe alignment? What do you guys think?

how bout check your power steering

? it may have a different unit and/or fluids. Age of the unit will also alter the steering sensitivity.

Colin, I gotta question for you. 95-96 steering wheels seem bigger than 97-99. I personally hate the akward slanted steering wheel on my '95. The 97-99's seem smaller and better telescoping. Is this true ??

I've always felt 95-96 had too much steering assist. 97-99 steering is less loose and the thickness of the wheel is also more robust. Definitely preferred...

Yeah, you're right. The wheel has skinny feel to it, and my 97 was alot thicker. Even the leather-wrapped 95-96 wheels feel small. I didn't really notice a difference in the slant of the wheel. I really wish I had a 97 steering wheel mainly because they look so much better, more round and neater cruise control buttons.
