New to the Board and Maximas....any major problems with these cars?
New to the Board and Maximas....any major problems with these cars?
thats about it, i am just wondering if there is anything i should look out for when buying a 4th gen maxima. I have a 91 Stealth ES which is beautiful, fun, etc, but i bought the car for 4500 and have invested a total of 13,000. Needless to say, i don't want to do this again! Any help with basic maxima info would be appriciated. Thanks!!

LOLI was gonna post something like that.. But seriously, the Maxima is one of the most trouble-free cars you can buy, espcially when compared to a Dodge Stealth.
Thanks for the replies. That is what i figured, and btw, i DO love my stealth, and i hate to sell it, but i am tired of spending all my time under the hood!! Thanks everyone(no more stealth jokes, though)

Consumer Reports' GOOD BET (very nice distinction)
Good Bet- These models are the best of the best from the "Reliable" list. Year after year, they've performed well in Consumer Reports tests and have proved to be better than average in overall reliability.
Reliability: Exceptional
The only thing in the entire 4th gen line is the 95 and 96. 95's are known to have starter's which aren't as good as the rest of the 4th gen's, that's a 9.3-14.8 percent problem. 5.0-9.3 percent problems are for the 95's fuel, electrical and brakes, and the 96's brakes. Every single other system for every single other year has a 5.0 percent or less or a 2.0 percent or less problem occurance. Which is way above par for other automobiles. No 13,000 fixer uppper here, no siree. The initial cost is more than your Stealth, but that's because it's newer than the Stealth. A 1996 Stealth is 16000-18000 while a 1996 Maxima is 12000-14000.
