Headlight cleaning

What can you use to clean the lenses of your headlights? I am talking about taking them apart and cleaning the inside of the lens and possible the reflective surface on the body of the headlight itself...

Cheston's site maximadriver.com has instructions on this in his how2 section. I think he uses lighter fluid though. I guess it evaporates better and has less chance of streaking than windex. Let us know how it goes. I was debating doing this. Good luck.

Glass cleaners will dry your lenses and leave them looking foggy. Try using armorall, son of a gun, or some oil-based cleaner. It will replenish the moisture and give it a better shine.

Yeah, I think I was on crack earlier. I checked his site and it says alcohol, not lighter fluid. Either way, don't drink either of em. I would not use anything oil based - that will smear, streak, and probably cause problems when the bulb heats up the glass. Chestons info that I am referring to is in the how2 section under "Make AE headlights" good luck.

If you have the 95 glass headlights, I believe the lense is glued to the reflector, you have to heat them up just to remove the lense.

Use cotton ***** soaked in rubbing alcohol and drop them inside the bulb hole...move around carefully with eraser end of a pencil.
