custom exhaust ?s

ok, i did do a search, but it brings back like 50000000000 topics on exhaust, so im just gonna ask here. im thinking of either going with the warpspeed from headers back w/dtm muff; or going with a custom 3" exhaust from the headers back. is 3" too big. i mean you do need a certain amount of backpressure. im not running turbo or nitrous currently and dont plan on it for the neer future. is there a reason why the aftermarkets stuck with 2.5"? is that the best size to go with for a max with no forced induction?

yeah, i think 3" is probably a bit much. i have 3" for part of mine. the car doens't track when i downshift, so i think i have the propper backpressure, but i'm not 100% sure.
