I have been noticing this strange chirping/squeaking sound from my car. It happens any time from closing the door to going over rolling bumps in the road. It almost sounds like it's with the suspension. You can hear it both inside and outside the car. I have played around with several places but I am unable to locate what it is. Any ideas as to what the problem is or where?

I just got done diagnoising(sp) a very odd clunk in a buddy's car. He previously had some bodywork done and they had to take the rear seats out. We finally decided to investigate this after removing the D.side Eibach/Koni didn't reveal anything odd.

When we took the lower/upper seat out, I immediately noticed one of the upper seat bolts were loose. Then I noticed the sheetmetal cover spanning the the seatback hole also had loose bolts. So we tightened them up and lo and behold, his car is dead quiet now. Not only is the "clunk" gone, all the creaks and squeaks are gone now also. I think the sheetmetal piece actually helps strengthen the rear more than previously thought.

Anyway, it's a free and easy thing to check

 

I do have Eibach's but not the Koni's. Do you think it could still be making the noise?

 

I really hate to do this to you but:

Considering it would only take about 10 min to check, why not just check it? It only requires a 10mm wrench or ratchet.

Also considering the noise could be coming from any one of about 100 places, I couldn't really tell ya.
