Wings West body kit?

Hey I have a question about the Wings West body kit. How durable is this aero kit? I really like how this kit looks, and I'm probably going to get it, but I'm wondering if it's going to break the first time I bottom out. Also, do they come painted, and how much does it cost to have it installed.
Thanks guys!
Chris

Re: Wings West body kit?

Hey Chris,

I got the Wings West kit, I got it in 1997 at the time it was called a Pacific kit. Anyway, I cracked the front lip twice in 3 years. I had to get it replaced the first time. I still have the crack in it from when I cracked it in 2000. Yes, it does crack easily. When I was watching Fast and the Furious and I saw them just driving as fast as they did up into the driveways and ish, I was like d@mn, how'd they do that without messing it up? I bottom out all the time but then again I got the 1 3/4" drop. The front lip is about 3 1/2" off the ground. I am going to take a picture of it with a Pepsi can in front of it so you and others can see just how low it is. But, gotta wait til I wash the dirty thing. Oh, the price, I paid $800.00 for the kit and $400.00 to get it painted and installed.

kit

hey sxwk12, i'm thinking about getting the kit also...my maxima is white with grey along the bottom. do you know if the kit will cover up the grey, or will that have to be painted white along with the kit??

It doesn't have to be painted, it will cover it all up. If it saves you a significant amount of money, you can install it yourself, if you have a rivot gun. When I was drunk one night coming out of a club parking lot, my back apron was ripped off. Me and my dad rivoted it back on and it is actually on better than the body shop had put it on. It fits tighter now.
