Drove the G35 today... first impressions

Nice car inside and out. Much more refined than a Max let alone an Altima. Steering column was kinda weird since the guage clusters move with the wheel/column. Stock sound system is great. The leather was nice and the controls easy to use. Electronic compass =cool Power seats where good. etc etc. Lights are nice the one i drove didn't have fogs. Cool side marker on the fronts that would look good with a clear lense. The front is awesome. Side is awesome. Back end is nice.

It really didn't "feel" that fast to me. I used sport mode shifting and shifted at different points from 5900-6500+ It felt quick but not fast maybe because it was quiet. Brought it up to 110mph and it was rock solid. The one i drove also only had 215's on it. Handles really well at high speed cornering and low speed. The brakes are excellent and very responsive. Looks almost impossible to put on a fstb. First thoughts..I will post more as I think about it.

That car would look wicked dropped on 18's that is for sure!

Yup! He was loving it. It was pretty smooth. Doesn't feel like 110. The owner of the dealer is driving this one since they got it in about 5 days ago. I did 130mph in my altima 5spd test drive when it first came out by myself and the second time with the salesman as well.

A couple years ago I took a test drive in a Carerra and you know how that one goes, the sales guy takes it off the lot. He ended up doing a 180, it was actually a little scary. He claimed the tires weren't "scrubbed in."

Those Canadian girls rocked to the Gold. They were the better team and they had to work pretty hard with all the penalties against them. I was rooting for the USA men though, that suc***!!

Never really paid attention to women's hockey... Now I know why. Was like watching high school hockey. Pretty pathetic. Glad men's Canadian Hockey has got their due though.

Man, Can't believe there are G35's out there to test drive already! Now if they would just get that manual already...

Hey Phat,
Who has it? 417?

WOW 176 KM/h! I didn't even try to go over 140... To scared of getting a ticket, get my permit suspended and loosing my job!

180 in the g35, 210 in the 5spd altima. Different roads. I would have gone 200+ in the G if there wasn't traffic.

The G is reasonably priced too! $39K to start and can go as high as $46k with wings and all sorts of other crap. The Platinum color is cool and I like the silver one as well.

Also the engine bay was tight as hell. What sucked was the hood needed a rod. The TB is somewhat pointed toward the front and very close to the front. It is a toss up between it and a TL-S (as in Autos). There is no doubt it is a nice ride. With some basic pimp skills that car is going to look so amazing! And I bet an intake will really open up the engine's performance since it is pretty quiet. Trunk space "seemed" medicore but didn't look too hard.

The Front end of it is so awesome in person.

Also the dealer mentioned the g35 coupe will be available in august 2k2 as well in the 6spd. The 4 door with 6spd has yet to be confirmed. (that would be a wicked ride fo' sho')

The are coming out with a 4 Door G35? Interesting.

Is it not snowy where you are at? Anything about 120km is scary in snow.

BTW, you can win a G35 by going to TDwaterhouse.ca and playing the stock game. Nothing to lose :-)

I cant believe Edmunds.com did a test on the G35 recently and didnot post any times on the car. I hear that they can run low 6's to 60 from other sources I have been searching on the net!
