Question on Bumber Lights

I just install my new clear bumber lights and i know it came with the orange bulbs, but im just wondering if i can leave the white bulbs that was with the orange lights. Would that be illegal to have the white bulbs with the clear lights.

Re: Question on Bumber Lights

Directly out of title 32 of Louisiana Revised Code:

"Front clearance lamps, identification lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors on the front or on the side near the front of a vehicle shall display or reflect an amber color." (section 309)

"Any vehicle ... shall be equipped with electric turn signals which ... when signaling, shall emit amber light..." (section 319)

So yes, it is illegal to use any color of bulbs in your clear bumper lights on a public highway in the state of Louisiana. That's where you live, right?

Here is a link to your state's motor vehicle code:

I left the white bulbs in, and then i put hyper white bulbs in. A cop friend of mine said that u might get stoped for it, but no one will write u up. If u get pulled over just said " i didnt know, and i will replace then" they look pretty sweet with hyper white

Your clear bumper light are illegal anyway. The reflector on the side is supposed to be orange, not clear. So why not go with the illegal clear bulbs too?

That's what I did.

If you live in CT you can have it emit any light between amber and white.

I thought that they were illegal only if you stuck the clear bulb in there?

Nope, the corners HAVE TO have an orange reflector. Looks at a Porsche 993 for a better example. The have clears in the front, but their corners are left orange.
