max is running worse now. . .

i hate to say it, but it looks like the max may be going to nissan now. . . . i don't know what happened, but it's running . .. .well, barely running horrible!!! ok, so i replaced the fuel injector with one i bought from tilleys99. i replaced 2 rubber fuel lines with injecter hose, the high pressure stuff. anyway, so i start it up and it sounds like it's backfiring out the intake! what the heck! sounds like timing, but i didn't mess with timing! and when i go to start it, it sounds like it's having trouble building compression. anyway, I'm goin home tomorrow for spring break, and i'm driving back up to school with my buddy J, (a nissan tech) to try to fix it. I may just end up taking it to nissan. . . . oh well. . anyway, anyone have any ideas what it could be? i disconnected the cylinder i put the injector in, and it started a little faster. . . . but still barely started, and still wouldn't idle. . .

Take a look at the plugs under the two injectors you replaced. Unless you know for sure they are the same as the maxima, you could very well be using the wrong injectors. If they run on a differen impedence(?), you might ruin the ecu. You have to know what you are doing for stuff like this.

I might be willing to sell some injectors individually still.

They came off of a VE that had the VTC actually break. So they were fine when it came off the car. But I cannot honestly vouch for them. Is there a way to test them off the car? They are still installed on the rail. I could try to take them off for you. I might have use for a fuel rail at some point.

As for price, I don't know. I'll think of something.

how many miles are on em? i can just trade you fuel rails, that way you don't have to try to get em out. they're a bizach. if they have alot of miles on em, i might just buy a new set. there's a VE at the junkyard at home. if all else fails i'm gonna pick up one there. the thing is this has to be quick. jason and i are coming back out sunday to monday to fix this or drop it off at nissan. I'm willing to pay the extra for overnight shipping. . .. let me know.

I just tried to call. "all circuits are busy". Your in Pa. If you wanted them by Sat, I would have to ship them tomorrow and pay extra for Sat delivery.

I honestly don't know how many miles. But I can probably tell they have more than 100k on them.

I can sell you the injectors for $60 + any shipping incurred. Will probably be about $60 or more!

I'll try calling you after class(ie..6:00 pm EST, 3:00pm PST)

Meantime, I'll try to get the shipping costs down. List a Zip if you can. Thanks.

UPS INFO. I have to estimate the box as I don't have the injectors at work:

Box est: 7 lbs. 20x10x12 The following is only the shipping costs estimates. It doesn't include the purchase price.

Zip: 40402: No Sat delivery available
15237: UPS red Sat delivery early AM delivery: $105.00
UPS red Sat delivery at about noon: $75.00

So add: $60 on top of those shipping costs.

I might not be able to call you due to work related reasons. But please respond to this asap. (or tonight)

Again, the mileage and condition of the injectors are unknown but it was understood that they came from a running car. Also, I would like for you to send me your injector rail as I might need it later.

I would need to send it tomorrow of course. That means you would have to send me payment later. Obvisouly, I would like a MO and sent out by something better than regular snail mail if at all convenient.

Just let me know and I'll get it going.

Jeff

I'm just gonna take my time and do this the right way. I'm stealing my sister's prelude till i get my max back on the road I still think i need em, but jason wants to diagnose before we replace. . . . it just sucks payin 70 bucks for shipping ya know. this way you won't have to overnight it on a saturday. alright man, I'll reply in a few days about if i do really need the injectors. . . thanks again man, i really appreciate all the help.

No problem. I'll see if I can coax them off the rail. It will reduce the shipping costs a little. Find out for sure what's wrong.

Hi,

I have a 94 nissan maxima and I was wondering how do you replace the fuel injector on this car? I have the DOHC engine.

thanks
