Hope for us with the ugly 95-96 steering wheel?...

When I went to the dealer today I noticed the 2k2 Maxs have a chrome emblem where our Nissan symbol is imprinted. It looks about the same size too... so do you think it would fit? Especially those of you with both 4th and 5.5th gens.
Thanks,
Cyrus

Then wouldn't it kill 2k2 Max owner as well?

Yeah, I think the 95-96 steering wheel is ugly. I like the 97-99 and newer Maximas steering wheel. I would like to change it too, but I think it's not worth the trouble.

i hear ya Vyrus...that "boxy" steering wheel on 4th gens suck as well as the "star trek" wheel on the 3rds. They should be interchangeable i dont see why not unless there were serious interior changes from 95-96 and 97-99

You know what REALLY sucks about the 95-96 steering wheel ?? It has about 2 inches of adjustment and is always slanted at a DAMN angle. The steering wheel is also big. Lack of a telescoping, or even a freakn rotating steering wheel dates the 95-2002 maxima's pathetically

Riding pimp is hard with a huge *** slanted wheel

or you could do what ludacris did to his cadillac and put a TV in the steering wheel ... surely that is better than the imprinted nissan hamburger

nissan emblem

i just put my nissan emblem shaved off of the back of my trunk on my steering wheel, i really like it, i just did it last nite. I don't even think my steering wheel is that ugly in the first placed (SE w/ leather wrapped) or whatever they call it.

I should have pictures later this week, or for you cali folk you can see it one of these weekends

& you can buy a new nissan emblem off of custommaxima.com for $19 i believe

why would it hit you, it has nothing to do wit the airbag, that like saying the horn will not work if u put the emblem on. The part that you would put the emblem on goes to the side/bottom when the airbag deploys(which is the cneter of your steering wheel)

Well no we know you can swap in a '97 steeringwheel, airbag, and clockspring, but they run about $400. I am probably going to add a Wheelskin and paint the center.

I'm not sure if the clock springs are interchangable. I think the airbag connection part of the 95-96 ones are dif from the others... I think I have been here before on a rebuild I did and I had to modify the wheel to do it.. I could not just take the spring.
