Without a doubt Maaco is not a good choice. BUT, if you have the skills to mask your car yourself and sand it down, then maaco would be good for you. They only have to paint it and it'll come out good. Now, they use crappy paint, so you'll have to be taking care of it like a ****. Wash it, wax it polish it, do any and everything you can to help prevent peeling. This would be the cheapest route.

Another cheap route. When you think of sherwin williams, you think of house paint eh? Well they have a good line of Auto paints. Their paints are good quality urathanes. You go to them, ask for a quart of your paint, based on your paint code, a quart would be like $55 from them. BUT, you need reducers, hardeners, clear coat..a complete paint package from sherwin williams would be around $150. Thats cheap, for really good quality paint, it'll be the exact metallic color your have. Now you find someone to paint whatever you want for about another $200 and you're set. A quart of paint would be enough to do the entire front end. If you wanted to do a bumper alone, you would buy a pint, which is alot cheaper. a full car would be around one gallon.

If you're in the market for really good quality paints like house of kolor, ppg..etc then you should defintely go with those, you'll get a much better show room finish, but if you go with paints like sherwin willaims you'll get a brand new out of factory finish, which is damn good, cause you're not about to take you're max to a car show. Also a paint job is only as good as the person doing the painting. Find someone experienced!

If you need body work, like holes filled and things like that..do it yourself..it's not hard at all. Minor surface blemishes could be fixed by just sanding, applying a thin coat of body filler, and sanding the filler down to match exactly the contour of the surface. this is incredibly easy, just take your time, and don't do it before you decide who is going to paint and when you're going to paint, or you'll be driving around with patches all over your car for no reason. Body fillers have a shelf life, so make sure you get em fresh. You can use fiber glass also, but if you don't know about it, don't use it, body fillers like Bondo are extremely easy to use.

Good luck!

I dont have a home with a garage, so it would be impossible to do all that... its bad enough that i have to subject my max to the elements of NYC life... But for me to do all that is mind blowing...
Unless i get someone to do it for me... ahem Pay$$ for yah trouble...lol But maaco.. nah... just a waste of money imo
