Car running like $#!+, SC guys PLEASE help!

I am so f.ing p!$$ed!!! Gosh, everything was fine and all of a sudden, bam, bam, bam. First the oil leak, then a spring problem (not related to SC) and now this: I came out to my car a few days ago after work and she started over just fine. Then when I put it in reverse, it started chugging and finally stalled. It started right back up and while in 'P' seems o.k. But when in 'R', or 'D', it's bad. If I keep my foot on the brake and give it a little gas, it's fine. When the car is warmed up, it seems o.k. It doesn't stall anyway. But it just doesn't feel the same either. The power is missing. I almost feel as if I litterally have my e-brake up 20% while driving around. No check engine light. Now every time I start the car cold, I have this problem where I need to feed it gas so it won't stall. I hate this f.ing $#!+!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I am just really frustrated and sad. Excuse me please.

If anyone can please help me, I would be more than grateful. Thanks guys, I appreciate it. You guys have been so helpful.

Thats the first I've seen that happen to an SC. I haven't had that happen to me. Just guessing here...Auxiliary Fuel pump maybe? Sounds like not enough fuel is being fed? MAF? Anybody?

I'm having the similar problems to yours, and people have told me that the MAF would cause it. My car has stalled about 3 times since I got the SC installed a month ago, and sometimes it stumbles when I first start it up if I don't let the fuel pump run for a little while before starting the car. It's hard to say if my power is down though, there's still so much that I really can't tell.

You might want to run the ECU check & see if it generates any codes. (This is possible, even if the CEL hasn't come on)

Good luck.

Have you checked the condition of your spark plugs?

Check Throttle Body?

I would really check the throttle body and clean it. It is quite concievable that something was leaking and pulling in particulates and depositing them in the throttle body or it was already built up and running the boost built up the deposits more? Dunno. That was the exact symptom I was having in cold weather for a while back. Worth a look anyway.

I have had the new plugs sitting in my garage for weeks. As soon as this started, I changed them. Still happening. The old plugs looked fine.

Cleaned right before install, but not since.

Check your ECU I bet it throws a Knock Sensor code. For some reason it won't generate a CEL unless it is in conjunction with something else. But it very well may be there.

Thanks Del and everyone. You guys are going to kiiiiiil me!!!! I am almost too embarassed to type this. Do you know what it was? It was my air bypass "T" adaptor (on the 90^ 3" tube into the throttle body). The hose came unhooked at the "T". I didn't use hose clamps because Stillen doesn't say to in their write-up but I certainly am now! I am sooo happy and releived!!! I appologize for wasting anyonebody's time with this thread. Thanks a million guys for the responces.

That's it - OFF with your head!!! To the galleys for you....

Glad it worked out - all of us non-SC'ed folk have dreams about your cars, and can't have our dreams taken away by a faulty SC.

Dashing, what made you revive this 3+ month old thread?! You know what, ironically, I am just about going on 3,000 miles so I am just about to do my first oil change w/ the SC. That was the time I planned on fixing it. In the meantime, there sits a towel in my garage. Everything else is fine though. Thanks for asking.

I did not capture the date on the thread...anyways.
I had a minor oil leak from one of the Oil Cooler lines. I have a Permacool oil cooler kit installed with the blower.
It was a simple fix, but I haven't gotten a chance to test everything else yet. Just wanted to know where your leak was coming from & I can go back tonight & check those points...that's all.

I have a plastic liner on the garage floor & some shop towels, just in case the leak wasn't fixed. I am going 800 miles since the blower, mostly highway!

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm kind of foggy myself. I know it is somewhere around the oil pan (the bottom gets full of oil over time). I have a suspision it is at the actual T-adaptor. I will look real close a few days before the actual oil change so I have time to get any parts. Then hopefully fix it when I change the oil.

Good luck to you.

Congrats, I didn't even know you bought an SC. How do you like it? How did the install go? Talk to you later.

Yes, 72 hours since the SC!! The install was done by a professional installer...I read your SC for Dummies 10 times & still could not get the courage to do it myself. I got the works, SC, ACT Street CLutch, 3.33" pulley, Oil cooler kit, gauges, etc.

My leak is EXACTLY where yours is at. I went underneath my car last night & found 2 leaks. The one was from the oil cooler hose clamp, which I fixed. Since then I did see 1-2 more drips. I am assuming that is another leak somewhere. It seems to be coming from the 2 hoses/wires covered with plastic wrap that meet at some brass plate. See stillen instructions photo#2. I've narrowed things down to the following. I'll test them all tonight.

*Oil feed line & "T" adaptor.
*Drain hose that runs from the supercharger to the drain back plate.
*Hose from T adaptor to the SC.
*SC itself (highly unlikely).
*Oil pressure sender unit.
*Oil drainback "J" plate that came with the kit.

I'll post my findings. If you want to chat offline, shoot me an email at:
