clear lights stolen again

Well, it happened again, to a friend of mine.
His clear lights were stolen in Toronto at Humber College, so I hope no one here goes to Humber, and will be driving with his lights

Anyone come up with a solution on how to keep these bastards in place?

Did you secure it with a nut like they show on pages like the mods section on this site? Right off the main page.

Not my lights, as I said they were my friend's.
I have no idea if he secured them.

Well that could have made all the difference in the world for him. Maybe you should let him know so it doesnt happen again.

I don't get it ... my clear bumper lights were never stolen. And I parked my car everywhere.

I mean, I got my hamburger stolen off the trunk of my car but nobody touched my bumper lenses. And I had red/clears in the back too. And there are a bunch of Maximas driving around with clears in NYC. The demand is usually pretty high.

And I never had them fall off either. I swapped them with my orange ones and didn't use any extra hardware and they stayed in the whole time I had the car.

Were these the diamond cut lenses that got stolen? In my book, looked better isn't worth the risk of it getting stolen. When I get my next Max, whether it be 95/96 or 97-99, I'm getting the regular clears.

Don't get the ****t y ones just because of that!!! Just be sure to secure them From what I've seen, they are a decent amount of work to steal if properly secured.

I haven't got mine stolen either and I'm from Toronto as well. I also have them secured. But I've always been thinking. If someone was to steal your clears and was unsuccessful, don't you think they would get ****ed off and either break u'r clears or scractch your car up or something? Just a thought. I guess if you have an aftermarket alarm, you can turn up the sensativity so that if anyone were to touch the car, it would warn, at least thats what I did.

Which might result in the keying of the car.

$30-$60 clear corners vs. couple of hundred $$ repainting hood or even more money repainted more of the car .... hmmm ... I'll just let the b@stards take the damn clear corners.

If you do buy them, you better put the Diamonds in and leave the regs for backup The Diamonds look about 3934927012342342x better than the regs.

i did already have a pair.. but one got a leak so i use the free new ones now...

i secured them with a 3/4 inch screw from lowes..

The common thief just wants to get your S#!t as fast as posible and get out. I don't think they would want to risk getting caught by hanging around trying to damage your car.

It doesn't take much effort to place a key on the side of the car, press and run along the side of your car. Not even 5 seconds and you have a deep long scratch in your car from the front to the rear.

I still don't think a thief would do this unless he also has something personal against you. they're concetraing on getting your clears. Usually when a thief get spooked or can't get what he came to steal, hey take off and look for the next victim.

Ummmm, most theives aren't professional and don't know what they're looking for until they see it. They see clear corners, try to pry them off, they can't so they possibly just brake them by prying as hard as they can, and then get ****ed so they run their pretty screwdriver right down the side of your car because they didn't get their clears. Believe me, I know from experience that a car keying is NO FUN AT ALL. My paint job matches, but I have to go back because after finally waxing it, I found WAY too many imperfections to be happy with it. And a Nissan dealer did the paint work. A little dirt is acceptable, but they didn't bak tape the doors so the edge of the door is all rough, there is random dirt in the paint all over the car, and the lower part of both driver's doors are cloudy to put it lightly. This is a PITA that I really don't feel like dealing with.
