Just wondering. Here in Indiana, the law only allows 35% or higher, but i have seen 20% and i like how it looks, and i want to get that on my car, but i wanted to know the risk involved with doing that. So has anyone ever been pulled over for that tint on their windows?

i have 20% in NY, i never got pulled over for my tint, if i do get pulled over, they might say something about it, but i never got a ticket for it.

 

If the limit is 35% I doubt you'll ever be bothered for 20%. Unless you insult the cop or do something really stupid you will be fine.

 

Last time I got pulled over it was for my hyper-whites in my rear side markers. He then proceeded to give me a ticket for:
1)Hyperwhite blinkers
2)License plate covers
3)20% tint all around
You may not get pulled over for it, but you might get a ticket for it.
Go for the tint anyway.

i have a much darker tint and i've never been pulled over. hope i don't jinx myself...

I am in Chcago and didn't know that in Indiana the limit is 35%. In Chicago you can't have tints on front windows at all. I have 20% all around, but I've been pulled over a couple of times. But I have a "PRESCRIPTION" from a doctor, so I get away most of the time. Although once I had a really nasty pig, so that mo fo gave me a ticket and I have court this Friday.

I live in bk and I got caught in a checkpoint and 4got to roll down my windows. Bastards gave me 4 tickets, one for each window, said it was 13% even though its 20. Im going to court tomorrow morning actually, The first time i went the officer showed up so I asked for a postponement.

 

What a f*ckin' piece of ****, a ticket for each window, wow.

Barely 6 months from September 11 and we've got people calling cops pigs. Real nice.

 

I agree, people shouldn't refer to cops as pigs. There are crooked and assho*e cops out there, but we can't generalize

 

How much does a window ticket usually go for. I would think mostly they give you a warning and tell you to remove the tint, but then you don't have to

cops are pigs..but they do their job i guess..i got pulled over upstate ny for speeding and they handed me a tints ticket too, said it was 30%, they dont even make 30% tints, mine are 35 in the front, 10 in the back, he gave me for my driver side window only, wierd cop...but in the city almost no1 bugs u bout tints or alotta illegal mods on cars, i got those REALLY blue turn signals in the back, never got bothered for it except when im outta town, only if its the end of the month and the pig has to reach his qouta, he might be an ***, but if u get a ticket, and its ur first time, u can jus plead saying i didnt know bout the tints laws and limits, and the dealer sold the car to me with these tints, i'll have them removed, or my friend one time did this, he mailed them a picture saying he removed his tints within 48 hours...at 4 in da morning he took off his license plates, put em on another car(an altima it was)..same color and year, without tints, and mailed the DMV that pic saying he removed the tints, or if u know a tint shop or even a repair shop guy, jus have him write u a fake bill saying 'tints removal'...many ways to get outta tints mess...so dont pay attention to laws and make ur car look hot
