wrapping intake and exhaust

i just ordered my y pipe and i was thinking about coating it with that heat tape, then i thought my intake would benefit from that also, i searched because i thought an idea like this had to be discussed before, but nothing turned up

have any of you all out there done this, and was improvment there?
i was thinking this would benefit a pop-charger because under hood heat is blamed for the low end loss? also would coating the intake see any benefit, or is that just a waste of tape?

its not going to benefit the pop charger since the filter is still sucking in the hot air. wrapping or coating the ypipe might cause some problems with the welds cracking due to over heating them.
