i just got my new maxima today!! its a 99 gle: dark evergreen color, tan leather interior, sunroof, etc..
my first projects will be removing the ugly gold emblems and pinstripe, i also need to paint the door handles and grille body color (if someone has done this please PM me), tint, the usual stuff, then onto the performance, its an automatic unfortunately but i guess the vb mod and hopefully a good torque converter will help with that
ill get pics of it up as soon as i get some minor upgrades!

All GLE's are auto. Unfortunately he didn't have a chance. Sell it back and go look for an SE (body painted handles/grille, black window trim, titanium badges, not gold)...

 

EXACTLY!!! Auto's = Being slower then a 5 Speed. Basically you get full potential with ur car with a manual.

 

that's only if you give a damn about speed..

Even with the auto... the car is very quick compared to other family sedans and even the 5spd Civics and Accords...
You can mod your car for looks, handling, performance, comfort.. even with the auto.. the car is nice

 

i would love to have a manual, but my father is crippled and he cant drive a stick (due mainly to the clutch i believe), therefore i had no choice other than to get an auto, and im well aware that a manual is faster and that the se comes with the body painted handles, grille, etc.. but i couldnt pass the deal up i got on the gle

 

Eh, 5-speeds aren't *that* much faster than autos... more fun to drive for sure. The point is: The Maxima is one of very few mid-size sedans that cost under $30K new, come with a powerful V6, all the options, and even give you the *choice* of 5-speed.

Accord V6 = auto only.
Camry V6 = 5-speed in base trim only.
Acura TL = Auto or Manumatic (FEH!)
BMW = $$$
Audi = $$$
