Anyone with a tan interior and 20% window tint?
Anyone with a tan interior and 20% window tint?
I am going to get my windows tinted in the coming weeks.
I am thinking of what percentage to go for. When I had my old car, I had 20% all around, but the interior was charcoal/black, and it looked darker. I'm wondering if 20% is too light with a tan interior and perhaps i should look for a place that can do 15?
Is 20% too see-through in the day?
Anyone have some pics ?
thanks

tan and 35%...close
mine looks real dark, but if it's bright enough, people can see a little shadow in my car doing things, so 20 would be mroe than enough for me, but 35 is also great for me

I am going for just plain black tint... since I have a black car it would look cool I think.
yeah i have a tan interior, the tints i currently have on my car are 35% Solargard metalized tint...its charcoal colored, yet in the sunlight it looks somewhat mirrorish. i am actually getting my windows re-tinted tomorrow morn down to 20% all around as the guy screwed up the job, and also, i think that after driving around for a few months with the 35% they are kinda light. i will depend on my sunroof for fine-tuning the amount of light entering the vehicle (cops, etc). oh, by the way, "meccanoble" it looks like your tints are 20% black-to mirror fade...well, at least the mirror part looks like its 20%. did you take that picture on a cloudy day? the tints usually look darker on cloudy days, that could be throwing me off?
it looks like 15%...thats what you put in your sig. you must be confused since you said you think you have 20% in your post...hahaahaha it doesnt matter tho since you live in AZ and I assume cars can pass with tints as dark as yours...
btw, i envy the nice, sunny (and probably very warm) days your pictures have captured

i just came back from having mine re-done from 35% to 20%. the difference is noticeable, mostly to me. its cloudy today so the effects are not as great...i can still see stuff thru my front windows, mostly because the windshield lets in the majority of the light now. the rear window wasnt touched today (guy said he'll wait til its a bit warmer out to remove that part because of the defroster lines and all). since the place is about 20 mins away and i had no ride back, i stayed and watched him do it. he rushed a little at the end, but the job was well done. since my back window is still 35%, i cant say for sure that it made a total difference, but the back windows definately look very dark (i cannot see into them during the day). definately do what nyc gxe says, get 20% all around, i am happy that i did (and the entire car to completion soon when it warms up).
your right, wit my mirror, my 35% does come out real dark, i've adapted to driving wit it, but when i let my friends drive sometimes (which i hate doing), they find it difficult to drive and have to lower windows down to make turns, i don't though....i kind of adapted to it.....
I had a beige car with beige interior.
I had 35% bronze in front and 20% bronze in the rear.
On a bright sunny day, you could see straight through the front and jsut barely through the back. At night, it was perfect in front and slightly dark in the back.
So if you get 20% all around with a tan interior, it will be fine.

Hahaha.. That reminds me of wisconsin winters. I used to drive to school in the morning in 10 degree weather, and the windows would have ice on them, so it wouldn't come off. EVERY CORNER i would have to open one of my 4 windows, sometimes I would have to open one of the back ones. That was without tint on my old subaru. Didn't have to put up with that this year in Arizona, however, I am moving home in May, so my max will have to go through it's first winter in about 7 months.

I love mine, but read this thread. It may depend on how much the police like picking on you.

I am not that worried about cops, *knocks on wood* I'm in NYC, I had 20% on my 3rd gen with a black interior, it was pretty dark, had it for about 6 months, no problems.. even through a few check points, they looked and didn't really do anything, I acted nice and rolled the windows down.
Only a 70% is legal in NYC which is rediculous because it's like factory tint.. I'm going to go with 20, 35 is too light in the daytime, and even see through at night.. Thanks to everyone that replied
five five five!!!!! The darker the better IMHO. As long as you can drive more carefully at night, 5% is the way to go. I had 35% front and 20% back 3 windows bronze colored tint and then I went to 5% black all the way around ... what a difference. Like I said, it is absolutely necessary that you PAY ATTENTION at night while driving, but hopefully you already do that ...
I just had 20% done today, and it looks awesome. I have a white maxima (98) and its all around, except the front windshield. I also have tan interior. It doesn't look light, and at night, it is hard to see in, extremely.
