I just happen to have a picture.

Does it get dirty? Sure it does, that's why I clean it yearly.

I wouldn't use the word "doomed" for the pop-charger or "hot-air" intakes.

I personally don't like the fact that people call them "hot-air" because once the car is moving...the recieve almost as much cold air as a CAI. I have a 30 minute commute every day and every once in a while I'll pop my hood when i get there and feel my intake, intake tubing and manifold...and they are all very cool....which means they are getting plenty of cool air while I'm moving.

The fastest 1/4 mile times have ALL been run by maximas with the pop-charger intakes.

This is what I always like to point out too. People say "blah blah, hot air, blah blah, low end power loss, blah blah blah." Well look at the numbers, the cars putting up the highest dyno #s and the quickest 1/4 mile times ALL have these so called "hot air intakes."

Air Intake

I have both a Stillen HAI and Place Racing CAI. The PR is currently installed. The HAI had better top end, the CAI better low end. With the HAI the low end lagged, but with the CAI the top end gains aren't as good. Its a pure trade-off as far as I can see, depends on how you drive.

so really, if ur only planning to do street light wars around the city u should go with the cai, but if ur planning on going to track or racing for longer distances at 60+mph, go with the pop-charger or hybrid

No the Hybrid will give you power all around as many people are now noticing. The Pop will give you high end HP due to its short intake runner path. The CAI will give you low end torque due to its longer runner path, The longer the tube is, the more power you will get on the low end. The shorter the tube is, the more power you will get on the high end. You just have to construct an intake that will give you the most benefit based on your driving style. I have a hybrid with a long runner style. It gives me lots of low end torque and doesn't sacrifice high-end horspower at all. I can keep up with CAI people on the street light races and destroy them on the highway runs.

i live in CO and we get plenty of snow and nasty weather...there are no problems with the PR CAI here. Just ask any CO member with a CAI. It's all a matter of opinion...do your research and pick which set up you like...

Re: Air Intake

And that's why the hybrid has been getting thumbs up from everyone that has it. Best of both worlds.
