Air box mod

I just wanted to see off hand if anyone has done the usual zip tie the air filter to the current air box in our max? I wanted to do this to get a growl out of the intake until I can decide on an aftermarket K&N style to buy. Also, my shifter absolutely sucks and grinds 3rd and 4th gear constantly on shifts. Anyone else?

Re: Air box mod

My 2k2 6sp shifter was terrible until recently. I now have about 3k on the car and it is much better except when cold. On warm sunny days it shifts almost perfectly. I want to upgrade to redline but I am unsure of the correct viscosity for this trans. Does anyone know??

so your tranny also crunched slightly going into 3rd and 4th? i don't mind it as long as I know it is ok and that my clutch is just mal-adjusted. i am switching to redline this weekend. use MT-90(they only have 2 types, with MT-90 being the preferable.)

how many miles do you have on your car?? My biggest problem was the 2-3 shift. It was so bad for a while that I hated driving the car. I think another problem is getting used to the clutch/tranny and learning how it likes to be shifted.

i have 650 miles on the car. there really should be no learning curve on depressing the clutch fully and engaging a gear. there is a feeling and sound of a light crunch. this is evident on shifts into 3rd and 4th. this shoudln't feel/sound this way.
