Slits next to Steering Wheel

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what these are for? There are 3 slits I think to the right of the steering wheel. They are on the plastic panel just below the engine temperature display. Is this some sort of receiver for the keyless entry?

Thanks,
Matt

I could be wrong...

but I think it is where the temperature sensor is inside the car so the AC unit can tell when to back off or kick up....

Its where the chime comes out when you leave the keys in the ignition or haven't fastened your seatbelt.

Nightrider baby!

Actually, it's the receiver for when you talk to your car, such as,

"Kit, we have to clear that 300ft. cliff, so we can catch the bad guys!"

The name of your Maxima may differ. Peace.

Welll

For those that have disassembled the dash...there is a accordian style tube hooked up to it. I did not investigate where the tube went but I would guess its not speaker related in any way.
