can I get a more restrictive exhaust than stock...

so that i still have back-pressure with my Y-Pipe?
also, would that make the car extra quiet?

what are the drawbacks? I know that less restrictive exhausts will give you more power (like 3/4 hp), but will be LOUD....so, I was hoping that the opposite would also be true.

Ummm, kind of wierd request but okay. I guess you could get a stock Honda muffler since they have about a 1 inch opening and get it put on your max. That would restrict it at the end. Or maybe hit your Bpipe a few times to make air travel worse therfore more resrictive. Umm, a clogged up cat?

correct me if im wrong, but that will just build up pressure on the highend basically defeating the purpose of the y pipe, so why get one at all? keep the stock one, so its quiet, more restrictive. get what i mean?

Well...I was only guessing that I would be willing to lose 2/3 hp with the more restrictive muffler (which, doesn't offset the gains of the Y-Pipe), yet still keep solid back pressure to have the same launch as I do now (my Y-Pipe is coming!)...

thanks!

hold on...My WSP SS y-pipe didn't make my car any louder. The popcharger sure did though.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that you will lose low end power with a y-pipe, you wont. You will gain throughout the powerband, look at the dynos.

I got the idea from reading other posts...thanks for the info!
In the end, I probably won't replace my muffler anyway...

If your really that worried just replace the Y pipe for now. See how you like it for two weeks and if the tiny sound increase really gets to you that much then we can give you more options. But most people do not mind the pipe at all and most people in your car barely even notice it is there.

Yes, and to add, the reason it may feel that the Y pipe loses low end is because it improves the top end much more than the bottom end, but it does improve both ends. That's what I felt when I put my Y on.
