It is right next to the regular belt if you look at the crank pulley... how it comes off/ goes back on is another question entirely.

I found a site with some grat info on changing the belts on a Maxima, but I can't seem to find it. I found the link on the org so I am sure you could find it with some searching, the site had some great pics.

Thanks guy

Thanks for telling me where the belts are guys, but 2 things, i need to know exastly witch one the power steering is, and 2nd i need to know how to take it on and off, the reason im asking all this is becuase my friends and i went to the track, one of them with a gsr ran a 14.9 with cat back, headers, and thats it, he took off his powersteering, and it droped down to a 14.5 So i wanna try the same thing, and see if i can bring out some un-taped power from the maxima, thanks guys

I don't think you'd gain much from doing that. Also, I think you can damage the power rack (not sure about that though). One last thing, on my 95 the PS belt is the belt behind the main belt (serpentine I guess?) and that would be a pain to take on and off time after time. Hope this helps. Do it, mabye you'll gain some but, I doubt it. Good luck.

Removing that when you run at the track is way more trouble than it's worth. I'm glad it will be a long time before I have to change that thing again.

Here is the site with the how to on changing belts -- http://integra.vtec.net/geeser/megamax/60k_service.html The site was very helpful, you definatly have to take the right front tire off to do the belts.

I think you could remove both the belts since the Maxima waterpump is powered by the timing chain. I am not a mechanic, but I doubt you will harm anything by running without belts, particularly for that short a period of time.

Good luck with your run, please post your results at the track if you do this, even if there is no gain. The UDP haters claim that there is very little power to be gained even if you remove the belts totaly so your results could prove them wrong.

yeah

Yeah I plan on doing this, but im not sure when , yeah there is always , things that make your car faster, I mean get this, i went out there with 17s and a sound system, and i was running 15.7s

Then i put my stock wheels and tuned up my car, took out the sound, and i was running 15.3s

Then I took off my hood, yes it too like 2 min, i took off my hood, and taped down my latchs so they wouldent fly up when i was racing, and then i went out there and ran a 15.0 I told my dad about this and were not sure what actly did this, if it was droping the weight, or the cold air hitting the intake ( i have a warm air intake ) Well eather way, one weekend me and my dad are going to make me a Fibor-glass hood, and were going to mold a little hood scoop over the intake so , one it will be lighter, and 2nd it will get cold air to the intake....How I got the idea for taking off the hood was a while back i was in a wreck and i had to ride around with no hood a light for a day, to pick up my new hood, well I got into a race, agents a GT mustand, and we sat dead even, well i was shocked ( at the time i couldent beat or even hang with GT's ) i felt it was much faster, so at the track i wanted to try it out and i was right, taking off the hood made a big diffrence..

and now i wanna try my plan with the Belts....and well see how that goes
