I am not sure on the price, I am talking to my one of my sponsors who deals with this company to see how much they are going to cost. They are only offered in clear, eventhough this company makes all kinds of different colored hoods. The kit comes complete with all brackets and a special cleaner to use on the hood. Go to www.eurohood.com to check it out!!!

Can you please explain to me the logic of a clear hood? I mean, why the **** would you want a clear hood? It just screams "Look at my engine goodies, then take them!"

Well, to each his own and more aftermarket support for the Maxima can't hurt! But, it says it's only intended for show purposes. Does that mean you can't drive with it every day?

Well I guess the next time that something new comes out for the maxima, considering that is like one item a year, I will just keep it to myself. I posted this for people that would be interested in something like this for their max in the show scene and I didn't ask whether or not you liked it!

Are eurohoods and Sho-um the same thing? Their pictures are the same. At least the eclipse is. Also, Sho-um hoods look like total **** fitment wise. That green Accord wagon in Import Tuner last november had a Sho-um hood, and it was about 2" off. Looked like crap. And one of my friends is sponsored by Sho-um, and his hood doesn't fit that well either. It's just hard to tell because the hoods are clear. I'm just bringing this up because I'm interested, but if Eurohoods is the same as Sho-um which I'm suspecting, then the quality is terrible.

I agree. At least once per day, somebody posts about a mod, a few members cite they don't care for it, and the original poster comes unglued! A long, pointless, heated exchange ensues. Most of the time, the original poster even asked what everyone thinks about their new such-n-such.

If you're gonna ask what everyone thinks about your new whiz-bang modification, don't get p!ssed off if some folks don't like it. When you tell people to STFU, for example, you just invite harsh replies.

All the folks here should be able to offer differing points of view or disagree without being accused of being arrogant, rude, or cocky. If you're afraid you might get your wittle feelings hurt, don't post! This is no place for thin skin... Peace.

Those aren't too far off. My friend who is sponsored by the clear hood company is supposed to be getting a prototype clear trunk from them.

Man, how strange. Talking about clear hood and maybe even clear trunk. This make me think of a dream I had before. In my dream, I see fixed up cars that were clear, I mean...the whole car was clear except for the engine bay, wheels, etc. Just the whole body of the car was clear. Deja vu.

Dude, your sig vid is awesome. You're on bags, right? How much did that setup cost? It looks so badass. Another pertinant question: how would your rate the handling at street ride level? Later.

The girl is different, but the Eclipse is the same. i did check the addresses after I posted, so who knows. But the similarities are still there. I seriously hope they're a different company and not like a division of Sho-um or something. If they can produce a quality hood, I'm interested...

love them girls, i guess they make the hoods for the maximas cuz it says they have it already, good to know theres more parts out there for the maximas. The more stuff we get, more competition, and plus lower prices for our parts. Like others have said, the org is not the BEST place to market new ideas, its a shame, i having a hard time building the new body kits for the maximas. Wonder how much these hoods will cost??

How strong are these things?

Maybe a cheap alternative to carbon fiber for the track? I'd hate to have that thing crack in half and fly off halfway through a run. What is the price on these? If they're cheap enough, it could just be painted to match you car, and you'd still get the lower weight maybe. That was the first thing that popped into my head.

I don't think you're supposed to drive with these hoods. And on the website, it says it weighs about 22 pounds. If I'm not mistaken, the CF hoods are lighter.

Besides, why buy a clear hood and then paint it?

I wouldn't use a clear hood. But, if it could take runs at the track and is cheaper than C/F ($600-$700), and lighter than stock it would make a little sense. Hell, they can make them out of black plastic if they're strong enough, it's just clear is the only option. What's the stock hood weigh? It's more than 22lbs. right?

Simply put: It may be a cheaper, not quite as good way to get a lighter weight hood and save a little cash.

Exactly. That's what this hood is for. To show off your engine without having to have the hood up. But you certainly wouldn't want to have this on full time, on the streets. That would be ridiculous. I'm surprised people were thinking of this as a permanent mod.

Why not?

We already have computers with clear windows so geeks can show off their kick-*** hardware (complete with neons) ... why not cars?

Re: Re: Clear Hoods are now available for the 4th and 5th gen maximas!!

clear hood and clear trunk would be amazing.. so much more convenient and safer at shows.. i would, no way in hell, drive around with these on, but its a lot better in my opinion..

any prices yet for the hoods???

there was a supra at a show this weekend with a custom carbon fiber hood and targa top made by top secret... the hood weighed 7 lbs and the targa top weighed 3 lbs.. wow.
