The right side of my stereo speaker system snaps, crackles, pops & hums. It hums even when the balance to the right is off. I had a sony cd player/tuner set up but swapped in the old Bose to see if it was the unit ...it is not. The Bose does the same! Any clues as to where the problem might be????

if you got a amp hooked up its probably the ground wire

 

It's the original Bose set up. Do you know where the amp(s)or their ground wires may be?

 

I had that probelm with mine, turns out water got in the amp (it's inside the door next to the speaker) and fried one of the transistors. I just trashed the whole mess and got an aftermarket stereo

 

Ok -the door speaker amp was shot. Did that affect your rear speaker too? Thanks!
