Recently every time i floor my max, i hear this nice whistling sound from under my hood. I only have a K&N air filter with the stock air box, and its never made this hissing noise bofore. It almost sounds like a turbo spooling up, but im just probly exagerating. I love it, but i was wondering what exactly happened, because i know i dont have a cold air intake, or short ran or whatever, and i know K&N isnt that great but i like it. So whats going on under there? Thanx

 

Have you checked to make sure all the connections in the intake tract are secure?

Since you dont have a CEL or drivability problems, I'm guessing it would be upstream of the MAF.

 

I have the same noise, usually occurs b/w 2000 & 2500 rpm, so would mine be connection related as well?

 

It is a possiblility. Double check that everything is connected right and nice and snug.

i have the Place Racing CAI with K&N filter and i also get the whistling sound at the low RPMs mentioned. i've always wondered what that sound is... i like it, but i still wonder.

actually, just listening to that sound makes me really want to get a supercharger with a BOV...*sigh*
