"Automatic" trunk lid

lately my trunk lid has been popping open on its own w/o me even doing or touching anything, can someone advise me on what's wrong?

i hate when that happends .I always put that lock on in the trunk because i always use to get up with my trunk open because i guess the button got pressed when i put it in my pocket.

also i locked it so my trunk doesn't pop up and everbody see's my kickers in the trunk and rob me blindly

...you could also be bumping the trunk release inside the car with your elbow - I do it about once a month...

I'd doubt it but anything is possible. I'll keep an eye on it though

cover the trunk release with masking tape or sumthing

Could be the trunk pop switch is faulty. Broken/loose contact inside.

If you are setting it off because you bump the button, just take off the door panel and unhook the button.

I did this, and now my remote still works, but the button doesn't. Which is good, because if someone breaks into my car and tries to hit it to get to my stereo, it won't work.

i have to hit the button 2 or 3 times to get the trunk to release .... hmm i wonder why, maybe mine works to well

I think you're supposed to have to hold the button down for a second for it to pop the trunk..not just press it like the lock/unlock buttons. That could be your problem..

That's why I did with my remote, but it still took about two or three tries.
