Flip Flop trunk lid?

I've seen this flip flop trunk lid instructions on eBay. Couple questions....

1) Is it worth it...or should I just find the instructions from someone online and get the parts from Home Depot?

2) Is it controllable? Like will it fly up and hit the roof of my car...it kinda seems unstable on one axis from the pictures I've seen.

3) Does anyone have it and do you like it?

Thanks
- Chad

instructions

I did some research on the "flip-flop trunk". I found myself on some civic site, but that's beside the point. There was a guy who bought the kit off ebay. he said he got copied instructions, and the material, but he thinks it was a scam. here are what he said the instructions said:

materials:
- 2" window bolt (7 screws included)
- 3" LT strap hinge (13 screws included)

instructions:
1. With trunk open, mark the trunk lid at the top of the stock brackets.
2. Remove your trunk lid by unbolting 4 bolts. Do not remove the stock brackets, only the trunk lid.
3. Attach the flat side of the enclosed hinge to trunk lid below the marked. With the bottom of the hinge facing down.
4. You will have to bend hinge.
5. With help reattach trunk lid to stock brackets using curved hinge. Be sure to pre-drill all holes before mounting new hinge. This hinge will create the fold down effect.
6. Connect enclosed latches about 2 inches from the bottom of the trunk lid. Be sure they are mounted on the inside of the stock brackets.
7. Mark a spot on the stock bracket to drill to allow the latches to latch. Be sure the latch will latch tightly. If it doesn't latch tightly you may have to replace the stock bottom bolts each time you want to fold down you trunk lid.

Geez...that sounds like a huge piece of crap. I'm sure I could guess how to do it better than it is explained in those instructions. The things people will do for money...

If you take this under your wing, and figure it out, post some "how to's" I might be interested in trying it with some concrete instructions. Later

im assuming by "flip flop trunk lid" he is talking about the kind of trunk lids BMWs have (the only car i can think of that ive actually seen it on is a friend's 540) instead of just opening at a right angle the tunk lid swivles so the top of the lid is always facing upward (opposed to the top of trunk lid facing the back window of the car)

here, look at this auction from ebay.
