you really have to be more specific then this, at least take a picture and have a pointer point at what you're talking about

or, you can do what your mechanic says and see if it works

Search...there is some folks that have done it but it may damage your tranny.

Not worth it, get the VB mod if you want harder shifts.

I've had mine hooked up to a switch for over a year now.

Pretty much useless, therefore not worth the potential to damage your trans.

Get a VB mod.

Yeah, don't kill your tranny.

It's the dropping resistor, you can do a search on this and you'll find it's been discussed before.

I keep saying this (as do most others here); Just do the real VB mod. I have the Transgo and it's basically useless. Save your money and do Don's VB mod and be happy from the start w/o killing your tranny or being dissapointed.

Or....

Get the VB mod, then put the switch on so you can turn it on and off, and get prepared for some rock hard shifts. I only use the switch at the track though cause it's rather uncomfortable for everyday driving. Not sure if it helps time-wise but it feels cool. With the VB mod and the switch it shifts HARD!

the concept behind it is ok, the resistor ups your tranny line pressure to it's max and that means harder shifts. a VB mod will up the line pressure AMONG other things. when i was runnign my 100shot on stock VB that was the only way i think i saved my tranny. it makes the tranny shift a lot harder, off boost i don't think it helped that much but i could chirp second. on boost if i didn't use it my tranny screamed and what not. i had it rigged to a switch that i only used for 1/4 miles passes and nos runs with my friends. i really think it saved my tranny but i would only use it in conjunction with a tranny cooler. get a tranny cooler anyway.

I did this just to see what it was about and it does give you quick shifts. I actually chirped going to second but it feels like my tranny is going through alot of wear and tear. I wouldnt risk messing up the tranny just for that.

like i said, on NOS it's a bad situation anyway and this is the lesser of the two evils. i'm sure of that.

The guy at Level 10 pointed out the same thing to me when I had my VB done up there. I tried it once, and while it shifted even harder than the VB mod, it felt like the tranny was taking a serious ***-kicking from it, and the minute difference between that and the VB wasn't worth it to me. Get the VB mod done as well as a tranny cooler and you'll be about as set as you can be with an auto, minus the HSTC.
