No all of those are wrong you need to buy fast lane performance hybrid intake.
Ask nightrider he'll tell you how much of a difference it makes on an auto.

then you would have to relocate the battery. Not shure he would want to do all that just for sound.

What he really needs to do is read the results of the experiment by a fellow org member that is at the top of the General forum. Read the results and it will guide you as to the better one.

Reading is overrated.

He wanted an answer, so I gave him one. Afterall, isn't that what the forums are here for?

don't get a JWT or any cone intake, without either a hybrid or a CAI pipe.. a plain cone intake will make you lag at low rpms, especially when you're auto

I beg to differ. I raced my friends 2000 auto Maxima before and after intake and had the exact same lead on him through both runs. My friend seemed to think at times I was slowly pulling ahead because of the intake, but I think it's in his head. Maybe the sound is throwing you off, but there is no if any lag.

Very simple its the perfect length between the cai and just the pop charger. So you get the best of both worlds the top end and bottom end you need but yeah you have to move the battery. Sorry some times you have to do things to the car to get more power.

Bruce is right. We have studied this subject extensively and came up with the best solution for low end and high end problems with the Max. What we have developed is a tuned length intake specifically designed to give the Max incredible high end power with typical CAI gains in low end torque. The sound is perfect as well. Its described as a gurgle mixed with a Porsche-like whine, guaranteed to turn heads. Our intake has already been talked about many times by other .Org members and may be released for sale soon. Here is a couple of quotes from some of them:

You guys should see/hear the intake papasmurf has, that thing sounds amazing, you should feel the pull of it... Supposedly it has no low/high end losses, strong throughout... sounds amazing. Once it's available i'll definately try it out!

You'll have to take the battery out to get at things better with the the 3.5 inch hole saw bit. But the battery will go right back where it was before. This is for the Place Racing Cold Air intake.

One more thing, I read somewhere that a CAI actually improves gas mileage. Is this true? I thought the entire point of the intake was to get more fuel through the engine. Wouldn't that actually decrease it? pleas explain. thanks.

You will most likely have worse gas mileage. Since I put mine in, I can't stop driving like a maniac. Once you hear that roar you will have a permanent smile on your face. I have sound files of mine. And it will get more fuel through the engine cause there is a sensor i think its called the AMB sensor or something like that which detects the cold air and increases the fuel volume to match the cold air which will then give you more horsepower.

with regular driving you will probably gain 2MPG, the reason for this is because you wont have to hit the gas as hard to get to a certain speed....... you dont get more fuel to the engine, you get more air to it, more air +fuel = bigger explosions = more power, in other words, you use the same amount of gas but with more air

The best intake for an automatic is a Stillen/Vortec SuperCharger.

Frankencar since nobody else put it out there. No lag, better throttle response and more power. I waited for a year and a half to get an intake and I'm very please with my purchase.
