I was cruising at about 70 mph on the Memphis Autobahn this morning, when, up ahead, I noticed a bright red Firebird making its way thru some light traffic. I came up behind him a few seconds later, both of us driving in the fast lane with me a few car-lengths behind. Nobody was in front of him. I eased up closer to see what he would do...

After a few moments, he noticed me looming in his rearview mirror. He seemed stunned to see another car hot on his tail at 80 mph! At that point, he punched it, and we were off. I was content to pace him, so I resolved to stick to his tail like glue. Long story short, he could not shake me. He let up and shifted to the center lane to let me pass after a bit, at which point I tipped my hat and went on around. He returned the gesture, and that was it. Not a kill, but what a thrill!

 

i think the T/A's are like over 300 hp....not sure if the max can hang with that at 80 mph +

 

Yeah, probably a six-banger in there. To sleep. Perchance to dream...!

 

Knight Rider was my favorite show growing up. I wanted a Firebird up until like 10th grade

 

T/As are cool. The regular 6 cyl Firebirds are dogs. Knight Rider's da ****!
