I get high 2.2s and low 2.3s in my Automagic. You should be able to at least that well, if not better. Try lowering your front tire pressure down to about 25 psi.

I get low 2.3s and high 2.2s by slipping from 3500, but overall it really depends on how the track is prepped. I even dropped my pressure down to 26 psi my last time out and I get about the same launch. We need radial arms

Dumping the clutch is not a good idea. It places tremendous load on your transmission.

Slipping the clutch will net you the best 60' times. Its a matter of modulating clutch and throttle in order to keep the wheels at the absolute limit of their traction. With a clutch dump this is impossible, you can't modulate anything with that kind of sudden jarring. Low 2.2s and high 2.1s are my normal 60' times.
