Want MUCHO HP for my Maxima

Alright what would it take to get a 97 maxima 5 speed to produce 400HP at the wheels. I am thinkin turbo and a built engine and NOS. I am wondering exactly what I would need to do it. I saw that there are a couple of Maxs out there with turbos runing at 9psi making 360hp. I'de like to run my Max at 12 or 14. I know there must be a reason why people aren't runnin boost this high already so what is it? With the use of compression lowering pistons and a completly built engine shouldent 12 or 14 psi be no big deal?
Alright I am still pretty new to Maximas so fill me in here. I was thinkin about getting a VW GTI VR6 and getting an EIP turbo on it. But I really like Maximas a lot more. I am just hoping I can find a turbo system for the Maxima that can deliver as much HP as the EIP turbo systems put out I meen check EIP out. They make some crazy fast VR6s that would eat maximas for breakfast and I am lookin for a car that is faster than a 911 in the quarter mile.

Buy a Z06 and add nitrous.

Its a lot cheaper to get a VR6 to hit 12's than a Max and a lot more goodies available for it. But the Max is nicer to ride in.

I don't know why I'm even bothering to respond to this, but a supercharger and some other mods will bring you into the 300+ range.

Air France should be stopping the Concorde flights soon. Buy one engine and zip tie it to your trunk...instant 10 second car.

{This has been tested and works...write up coming soon!}

Zip ties alone don't work. Better to glue it down and then apply some 3M tape before putting the zip ties on. Don't forget to add a few hundred wings to keep from lifting off the ground.

Possible...? Sure anything's possible if you have enough money but you're in the wrong forum...

If you want a 400hp car that's faster than a 911 in the 1/4 mile then you don't start with a 4-door V6 front wheel drive sedan that in stock form makes 190hp... It doesn't make sense.

There are much better cars to start with for something like that.

u might try searching on the org as you could easily answer all of your questions. but here's a free answer:

400 crank hp is not impossible. definately need some engine work. run a s/c with like a 2.XX pulley and like a 50-60 DPI shot. hell, make it a 75 shot.

now, try driving it. wheel spin is a *****, huh? the problem isn't making the power, it's putting it to the ground. limited slip differential is a must. Quaife or an I30. like some one said before, a front wheel drive V6 sedan isn't meant to outrun a 911.

Don't forget the other thing you'll need: sh*tloads of cash. But if you've got the money then do the research and let us know how it comes out.

turbo is in colorado

somebody did it recently, 2600 bucks non intercooled. you have to drive out htere, and wait a while im sure. best to get a SC i think that puts you at 270hp. smaller pulley and add to that. isnt there a few NAs running around 400. (NA if NOS stuff doesnt count.) best of luck, and be prepared to pay a lot.
