The 6 Disk CD Changer on the I30. Is the same for Maxima?? This is the Disk changer for the 00 and 01 Models. Not the Indash for 02.. Thanks. Also if you can run out to the car and give me the magazine # or tell me what after market would fit. Thanks.

Yes the part # is the same B8118-C9961. 2nd Question would be. I know its made by clarion. Do their aftermarket magazines fit? What model if anyone has tried this.

USA-Spec makes one that will fit Nissans as long as your system is a double DIN-sized cassette/CD unit with a "CD/CHG" button. It might also work with Infiniti. Pretty simple install - the cable piggy-backs on to the existing connector and the changer fits in the trunk or under the passenger seat where I keep mine. I know you can get them though Crutchfield (about $300) but the prices may be cheaper elsewhere. I have one in my 2000 SE with the Bose unit. The head unit controls the changer without any problems. I suspect that its the same unit that dealers install.

Now that we're on the subject-- I want to install The remote CD changer for the wife. Does the 2000SE's come with the CD changer/trunk to dash cable harness PRE-installed from the factory ???? Or do I have to pull the unit and install the wiring myself ??? I have the CD with the CD/CHG button, so I guess it's the right one. Thanks

The cable is not there - at least on my 2k SE. It not too hard to pull the unit and plug in the cable. I recall that you had to pop out that little flip compartment in front of your shifter and pop out the panel around the shifter itself. You also need to (carefully) pry up the vents above the stereo and somewhere along the way you will find a couple of screws (I think they we above the unit). Once all that is undone you will be able to pull out the stereo (it comes out attached to the climate control unit) and then you can access the back connectors. Pull out the existing connectors and piggy-back those into the ones that connect to the changer. Plug the changer cables into the unit and run them wherever you want the changer positioned. There is no separate power feed to the changer - it comes through the same set of connectors.

Thanks for the answer. That's one good reason I'm on this site. Now to find a changer + wiring, and decide where to put it. Al
