Power Window Problems - Help!

Hi all,

I have a '95 SE and the driver's window is having issues. It goes down all the way (but the motor won't stop running) AND it will only go up w/some help.

It seems like it's a bit loose in the channel, but I pulled the door skin and lubed the track and channels, and nothing seemed to need tightening. It was just loose (moves from side to side).

Is this a case of a worn out motor? Do the cables keep the window tight in the channel?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Don't know if this is what it is but it sounds like the power window regulator has failed on your car. . . It was a fairly common problem on 3rd gens, but I know it has happened on my 95 also. Has the exact same symptoms.

Is there a good source for these regulators that has a good reputation w/the Maxima community? I wouldn't mind getting it online if I knew that the businesses reputation was good.

I think it is a dealer only part, but you could try Courtesy Nissan in Texas. . . They give us deals on parts. Other than that, you may try junkyards or just bite the bullet and get it from a local dealer. I know it was about $200 parts and labor when mine went out on my rear door.

Thanks for the help guys! I am ordering the regulator thru www.tustinnissan.com for $56. They give folks who mention the forum 20% off list which is pretty good.

Thanks again

Let us know how it works out. I ended up getting a new motor at a junkyard when it happened to me.
