Damn Birds...

A couple days ago, some bird left a nice gooey one on my car...now today I went and washed my car, and usually everything is all good. But it seems that the bird must have had ring-o-fire because it left a kind of dull spot on my paint where the $hit was (maybe even burned the clearcoat off?). I have something similar on my spoiler. Im just wondering what I could use to clean it off or repair it...I've tried waxing it but doesnt seem to do anything...suggestions?
Thanks,

i had the same problem kind of. it was a BIG purple lump of SHI+ .
i think the problem is that i left it for a while without washing it, so it got kinda tough to get out. i seriously doubt it would "burn " anythjing off your paint, try putting some soap on it, concentrated, and rub it out. hope it works

The best thing to do is clean it off immediately. Don't let it sit for a couple of days and definitely do not let a hot sun bake it in further. You can permanently damage the paint this way as the paint can "check" (crack).
For the dull spot you can use either step 1 or step 2 of Meguiars (or
Mothers) 3 step system. These are available in most chain auto stores
and I have had success with them. I have tried Meguiars Scratch-X and didn't get good results so I can't recommend that.
If step 1 and step 2 fail, they shouldn't, then try 3-m hand rubbing compound. Follow that with step 1, step2 and wax. I would not use any of the cheaper compounds because they haze the finish.
Also you must apply any of the above on a finish that is cool to the touch.
Good luck.

Yeah birdsh!t contains a lot of concentrated urea- Kinda like our very own p!ss and feces combined into a little concentrated lump. It is very harsh and will eat your clearcoat right off and expose your paint to the weather. Wash it off asap.

Bird dookeee will mess up your paint fast especially if you leave your car in the sun. Be prepaired to be pist after you wash it. Bird poop contains (I forgot the name of the chemical), but anyways it will damage your paint.

Also I dont know about everyone but everytime I seem to have my car nice and shiny birds aim that rear end at my car and seem to always hit my **** when is clean , and I just spent hour and half cleaning it!! I think they love black cars because I am not the only one.

Well, using heavy duty rubbing compound followed by mothers scratch remover seemed to work pretty good...unfortuantely the birds dont seem to like my car being clean so they've $hit it on once again...
