Redline Transmission Fluid (ARrrrrgggggggggg)

O.K.
I replaced my transmission fluid with Redline MT-90. The instructions on www.greghome.com were very easy to follow, Thanks. I have had the fluid in for about 2 1/2 weeks. At first, everthing was smooth(no notches between gears),it was great. It even allowed me to get the car into first while still rolling. Recently(the past two days), I have noticed that the transmission is going back to its old ways, the notches have returned, I can no longer put it into 1st while rolling. It almost seems as if it has gotten worse, sometimes I really have to tug on the the stick to get it into 2nd and 4th.

Has anyone else had this problem?
What is causing it?

BTW I have a 2k2 6spd

First thing I would check is make sure the fluid level is still where it should be. Might have "settled". I would also dip my finger in there to smell to see if that might reveal in info also.

I noticed the same thing with my car... (2000 5spd though) I've checked for leaks multiple times and haven't found any. It seems to me that I have just got "used" to it now. My wife drove the other day and noticed that it shifted smoother. This was after it had been in 2 weeks and I felt the same way you did.

Did you do what colonel suggested?
I haven't done it yet just curious if you did, and if so what you found?

No, I haven't. You can try that if you think you didn't get enough fluid in there. Mine took a little over 4.6 quarts and then a small
amount dribbled out, so I know it is full.

I'm not sure about your tranny though, I think the 2002 6-speed takes right at 3 quarts?

He is right, the fluid should be right under the fill hole.

Hope that helps.

Mine took a little over 2 1/2 quarts, which I think is about what every one else was getting. But I will check to make sure the level is right under the fill hole.
Thanks
