Thinking about painting cloth seats (opinions?)
Thinking about painting cloth seats (opinions?)
I have a 1995 GXE w/ the charcoal colored cloth seats. I'm thinking about taking them out and spray painting them. I'm going to leave the center gray and then to the left and righ of the stitching black or vice a versa. Has anyone done this before or have an opinion this? Also, how hard is to remove and then reinstall the base, cloth, non-power seats? thanks.

Is this a serious question???
If so, I wouldn't...
Indeed you can air brush them with a cloth designed paint. THis will make them slightly crunchy. Also you would need to heat set the color. It will still fade and will eventually rub off mostly, only leaving the remeinace of a color. If you air brush a dye you might have it. Don't subject your max to it though. Try it elsewhere 1st. Oh yeah and unless you know how to airbrush and are expereinced at it, have someone do it 4 you that is.

Re: Re: Thinking about painting cloth seats (opinions?)
lol, wow pretty positive feedback! Well reason I thought it would work was because we were painting the interior of my friends trans am and he wanted to do his speaker coverings. Same cloth as the ones that are on your floors at home. It colored them good and the fabric was only a little stiff, not bad. I figured it would probally work with the seats. What I plan to do is cover the areas I don't want painted with newspaper and use masking tape around the edges.
I guess i'll just talk to some more people about it and see if I can find a paint specifically designed for painting cloth on the seats. I mean..... whats the worst that could happen
