Pushed into Curb.

Today comming home from work, I was exiting a highway ramp. It was the kinda exit with two lanes exiting the highway.

I was in the inside lane and a younger punk comes in the outside lane around the bend. He then drifts into my lane and took me by surprised.

Pushed my max into the curb which put some scrapes round the edges. I was ****ed. The guy took off. Did not feel like it hit hard...more like a sidways scrape with some force though.

ANyway, I think I may need an alignment. Besides that, what should I look out for? Anyother major componenets to check?

The alignment should show anything that might be out of wack or wrecked. It doesn't take a real hard hit to the side to *** up a lot of stuff. I slid into a curb in a parking lot once in the snow at about 15mph and bent a whole ton of bad stuff....

Ya,

I guess I should have. When I was in High School, no doubt I would have gone after the guy. But he took off pretty quick and there was a street car with people around it exiting and entering.

Rather avoid a massive ticket and saftey. I hate to say it but comming around the bend, I had this feeling I should back off around the bend as people tend to drift. I guess my max stuck the corner well and I stuck the curb well.

All in all a good experiance I guess.

Anticipate other drivers and be cautions...saves $$$

Thanks for the support. I had to vent.

Re: Pushed into Curb.

I hit a curb last year. I fixed it all my self so i have a little experience (dispite my Newbie status) The lower control arm is designed to self destruct in these situations to avoid breaking more expensive stuff. Take a look at it, it should be flat.

When you get it aligned tell the guy to check it out, especially if you arent mechanically inclined.

If you find something wrong, post back here. It is very easy to replace front suspension parts on a maxima if you know how to turn a wrench, and you can definately save money over a mechanic.
