What type of lights are on the new Infiniti's

They are the brighter lights. Just wondering, because I would like to get some for my 1998 maxima. My dad has a 2001 Infiniti, and he has those bright bright lights.

thanks

Intead of a bulb with a filament and filled with Halogen gas, HID capsules have no filament. They rely on high voltage to "arc" current through a gaseous medium, in this case xenon (a noble gas according to the Periodic Table of Elements). Basically HID lamps put out 3 times more light (intensity), but only consume 35 watts of energy. Do a search on the web and you'll learn enough...

Keep in mind a 9004 HID retrofit is not recommended due to beam pattern issues. You CAN do it, it's just not recommended.

that is what infiniti uses? My friend says they have brighter kits, that you can get for like 45 bucks a set at Autozone. Are there alot of different brighter light setups you can have, for like the headlights, fog lights, ect..

Your friend is referring to the HID "simulated" bulbs. They come in Hyper White, Arctic White, Super White, and a variety of other stupid confusing names that really don't tell you much about their actual color.

Depending on how much blue tint and what gases and their respective ratios in the bulb, you're going to get different tints on your "white light". For example, your regular 9004 emits a yellowish white color. A Super White 9004 emits a bluish white, similar to those Volvos. Hyper White and some Arctic Whites have a purplish tint which simulate the new Audis or BMWs. Of course, it not only depends on bulb, it also depends on the condition and make of your lenses. Go with what you like best and stick with it, you may have problems trying to find Super White fog lights to match your Super White headlights, if you go that route. The Super White bulb in the fog lamp still looks factory yellow because of the lenses, no way to get around it. Instead of Super White, the color actually looks more like Hyper White.

You're thinking about the Q45. The G has the stacked round headlamps.

It may be on the Q45 too, but I saw them on the G35 sedan at the local car show. It has that large lense with i think 7 or so big dimples on the lense. looks unreal.
