my friends 01 lost to a 99 with v-tec....it had no mods... my freind power-braked and got his 5-speed of the line and i manualy shifted, then when i hit second he started to catch up walked by me.... my freind wants to know what he can do to make it faster ASAP. plzz respond ASAP

i bet with a intake y and exaust he won't be taking your friend plus since the honda was a 5 speed it helps out a lot

i would have thought a Maxima '01 could take out a 99 v-tec even if the Maxima was Auto.

I took out a 99 vtec lude 5-speed when I had my 2k GLE stock..

By like 5 car lengths..

yeah cuz i could have sworn the 99 preludes didn't have more than 200hp anyway. so the prelude he raced probably had like a turbo or nos or some kind of damn big mod.

I dont see what the problem is. A stock 5spd lude can run a 15.1 in the quarter mile, if not better with a damn good driver. It seems i have always been mistaken by ludes as well, but they really are quick cars. Low 15's stock, 14.5's with intake and exhaust, and they will run into the 13's w/o problems with JUST bolt ons. The auto max is good for maybe what....15.4??

 

i know their are good, but i'm still surprised. from the posts i read the auto max runs 14's. that's why i'm really surprised a prelude would beat a Maxima (both stock). Celicas have 200hp and a Maxima can easily kill that.

 

he also wants to know some qucik easy good efective mods that he can get

 

depends on what that prelude has, but some quick effective mods is intake/exhaust. oh and a good driver.
