Need opinions, buying a 2K2 SE

Hi everyone, I'm seriously considering trading in my 98 Rustang GT for a 2002 Max being that I need a more practical car since including the mustang we have 2 sport cars here in my home. I can get a sweet deal on a fully loaded black Max SE with the 6 spd. for ~26K brand new. I was wondering if you are all happy with your maxima and if it's reliable. I loved the way this car ran when I took it out for the test drive. I'm also interested in the aftermarket (OF COURSE). I'm talking about body kits, wheels, exhaust components and YES....Forced induction. Is this a mod friendly car? Anyways, I'm pretty excited and as I await your replies I will be searching some of your topics. Thanks.

As a Former LT1 and 89 5.0 owner, I recommend the Maxx. The aftermarket is not as "FRIENDLY" to the Maxx as to the Stang... It is a true Sports - Luxury - Sedan. I didnt get the 6 speed, due to the wife, but I love it... Check out my homepage for Pics, if you want ..

I've owned my 2k2 since November 7 2001 and I'm happy overall. Below are some of my likes/dislikes:

likes:
heated steering wheel;
Xenon lights;
power of the VQ;
interior design;
6 disc in dash CD player

dislikes:
front wheel drive;
just barely enough headroom;

repairs my car has had:
blown MAF;
recall for throttle stop

what it's going in for:
hood shake;
rear window wind noise;
stabilizer links

All in all it's a good car that I'm quite happy with, but I do believe that the years of 'Japanese manufacturer's have the best quality' mantra is not really as great as I had been lead to believe.

Don't get me wrong, just all people that I talked to in the past made it seemed like the imports never breakdown.

You won't regret getting the Max. It is the Japanese musclecar.
