They are both very easy to install and a huge pain in the butt to install. When I did mine it was easy right after you get the center bolt off. It took a while and needed an air pump set to 175 pounds to get mine off. After that not so bad but breaking that bolt took some time. Once you get that done it is pretty easy from there.

UDP Install

Just get a Haynes & Chilton's manual.
They both have detailed, step-by-step instructions.
Also, have some air tools readily available. I tend to use the electric impact wrench from Craftsman.

It would also be a good idea to get a OEM bolt from the dealer...just in case you break yours.
Good Luck

UDP is a long debated issue. Several magazines articles have shown that the UDP will give you 4-5 wheel hp at lower rpms. This of course has been on BMW's & VW's...not a Maxima yet.

Please, let's not get into the UDP debate...
To each their own...

Get a good breaker bar too with the 19mm socket because eve with the air tools that thing took some power to get off. Start spraying now with some rust remover stuff to try to lube it up a bit to give you a head start.

Agree. WD-40 works quite well!
I believe you'll need a 19mm deep socket

I did mine using the starter method too and it works fine. Took 3 tries before it came off. If you have an auto and don't have an impact wrench its the only way I know of.

Did you ever have any problems with your accesories or anything like that after you installed it.

I've had mine for almost 3 years now and have not had any problems with reduced charging, A/C, or power steering boost. The only problem I had was that I had to adjust the belts several times over the course of a few weeks.
