jerky upshifts after intake install

i recently put a pr cai in my car 2 days ago. while i am getting some loose screws tightened and some other stuff adjusted w/ the install today, i was wondering if anyone had any idea as to why the car has been shifting very roughly since putting the intake in. its an automatic, and w/ each successive shift of the engine, the whole car jerks almost as if im shifting a 5 spd. any ideas? one of my friends said something about the ECU not being used to the new filter system or something, but he didnt really know when and if it would correct itself. thanks everyone

also, just for the record, i officially have the worst car luck ever, last night i was forced off the road by a ford ranger and subsequently drove over a rock -- a rock big enough that my car wouldn't clear it -- a rock big enough that my car wouldn't clear it and i now need a new front exhaust piece. just one problem after another it seems....

New front exhaust piece, WELL that just an excuse for you to get a performance y-pipe . You should thank that ford ranger driver (j/k).

But, check the connections on your mas air flow sensor. Maybe even squeeze down the connector terminals so that they grab the tabs tighter.
