I owe about 17,000 on it, what kind of trade would a dealer make me for a 2002 SE loaded? Anybody have any idea how I would come out.

I only got 17,500 for my 2k GLE fully loaded with only 13,000 miles. I didn't trade it in, I sold it to carmax. I suggest you try to sell privately if you go ahead with this you'll get a much better value. But I don't recommend it seeing as how you are close to upside down on your loan. When I did my trade-in my car was paid off, you still owe quite a bit.

I have a similiar car, 01 5 spd will all options and I tried to trade it in last month. The dealer would not give me more than $18,000 for it. I walked out...it's not worth loosing 6-7000 after only 8 months. I decided to instead keep the car and not look at a new Max until the new model comes out. Instead I've decided to add mods to my car to keep it apealing to me, I just got the windows tinted, it looks nice.

My advise is...keep the car, don't let the dealer screw you, there isn't all that much difference between the two model(I keep saying that to myself so I don't think about trading my car in).

I wouldn't call the dealer screwing you, the BB value is what they are giving for trade in. Blame Nissan for not having good resale.

Maybe it was the attitude of the manager at Gerald Nissan. He acted as if he was doing me a favor by offering $18,000. Anyway, I'm keeping my car for at least another 3 years or so until it's paid off and I can get some money for it either by selling it or trading it in.

You can only trade in your car every year if you are filthy rich or just plain stupid.

 

Sad truth is, from what I have seen on this planet, they are very often one and the same...
