Use the search feature for "oil" or "oil filter" and see what you get.

Who makes them? K&N makes them. I use FRAM filters, and have on all my cars. They are inexpensive, available everywhere and suck up tons of dirt.

Don't think they made one for G4 Maximas

At least last time I looked.

They are great!

They have developed one for the 95-99 Maxima, however they aren't available yet. I called their engineering dept, they gave me the part number, but it won't be released for 3 months. I am a die hard K&N oil filter user. I have them on 5 of my 6 cars, the only one I don't is my Max. I have been using them since they came out, over 2yrs ago. The main reason I use them, is for one ingenious function they have built into the filter. A 1" nut! That's right, a nut! So no "oil filter" wrench is needed. No more pounding a screwdriver though the filter to twist it off, because your oil filter wrench is slipping. Just use a regular 1" socket, and a rachet of your choice. So now you have a racheting tool with leverage. Great for those tight spots. Plus, I'm sure, K&N has the best filtering system money can buy, just like in their air filters. Worth twice their cost!

Re: They are great!

Your issue of the 1" nut makes me wonder if you may be tightening your filter too much. Whenever i replace mine, I go as far as I can go with hand tightening, and then just half a turn more with the oil filter wrench. No leaks or worries.

I have never had to pound a screwdriver into a filter to get it off.

Just my 2 cents

I do the same, however my Acura Legend and my Prelude Vtec likes to tighten them beyond removal, all on its own. And it's in a location that you've got about 30 degree of turn before you hit something with the oil filter wrench. And a filter wrench usually slips that much before it even turns the filter. With the K&N, I can use an extention on the rachet, and have 180 deg turn, and it doesn't slip.
