So far, on 4 door sedans (domestic vs. Import/European), I have found that most non-domestic cars have firmer seats, and domestic cars have more Plush, "sofa" like seats. Which one do you guys prefer? For me, I prefer the Firmer seats, They look more agressive, and makes the car feel more solid overall. Comments?

 

I have a 2k2 Max and a Volvo XC... both leather. The Volvo wins hands down, but Volvo is also "known" to have exceptional seats. The XC hugs the driver, no lateral movement when turning, gives a nice ride, and is just all-around cozy on long highway drives and short rips around town.

I totally agree. When I had my first import car, a pathfinder, I remember thinking how thin and hard the seats felt. They had a racey/light feel to them. This was followed up with my GSR and SE Max. Compared to the U.S. seats, these seats feel great! Perfect support. I prefer this type of seat to the crap they put in my explorers/wrangler/stangs.

 

My soon-to-be-mother-in-law has a Chevy Lumina, POS. Not only does it drive like crap but the seats feel like big pillows covered in cloth. You sink into them when you sit down. It is very difficult to "feel" the road and on bumps you bounce all over the place.

 

a friend of mine has a C230....I dun like the seat at all...to hard and after a long drive to LA, man! it was killing my butt. Same as VW, I dun like their firm leather seats.

but if it is too soft....gets my back sore too. I guess my hip is just to sensitive

 

Drive a Saab, they make the best seats!!

 

I am 6'3", not freakishly tall, but I haven't found the car that seats me to a "T" yet.

No lumbar, makes mine worse. AND, to have the perfect seating position I would really need a telescoping steering wheel.

I wish I could have all that and the seat and steering wheel move out of my way when I shut off the car. LS400s do it. Automatic '02 maxes do it.

I am in a Buick rent-a-crap b/c my Max is getting hail damage fixed (should be doen this afternoon). I can find a fairly comfy driving position, but then I can barely get out b/c my legs are trapped under the steering wheel!

I think my next car will be an big-rig. Can you mod those?
