My new wheels are falling apart- what kind of glue?

I love my new wheels, but the little fake screw/bolt thingies around the lip are held on by a single crappy shred od double sided tape. Two have already disappeared and I pulled off 12 other very loose ones this morning.

My question- What kind of adhesive should I use to attach metal to metal? Should I use that putty that turns rock hard or Bondo?

Help- I have to go to Home Depot in a few hours.....

Oh my! Thats not good to know. One of my center caps fell off and I used silicone adhesive for fish tanks. I figured it would be water proof and can hold up a tank with water it can definately hold up in rain. I don't know about those screw things though they might be to heavy for silicone to hold. Plus you have to set them for like a number of hours. I've heard the dual tube epoxy is good for bonding things too.

Note to self, "Do not buy intricate rims with small pieces of glued on decoration!!!". Just kidding. That sucks that they are falling off. Shouldn't that be considered an manufacturing defect or something? How long have you had them?

1 day. 1 friggin day. First the tire shop gouges one of the wheels, and now this. Note to self: Always buy WELL KNOWN brands.... I already left a message for the owner of Whalen Tire.. Maybe he can do something.

What's the return policy? Try to get your cash back then get better rims. It's too soon for something like this to happen. Hope you can return them. Good luck.

Wow you've got the worst luck of anybody I know with aftermarket wheels. Maybe you should go back to the trusty Nissan rims. Try calling the wheel manafacturer and ask them how they get those things to stick, you may find out that whalen tire fudged with them.

Tell me about it. I have horrendous luck. My girlfriend picked me up some Fast Steel at Home Depot (she's pretty smart with stuff like this). We reattached the ones that I pulled off this morning and she claims it is going to be hard as rock now. I have to get Whalen Tire to send me some more now for the ones that were missing.

I don't think Whalen messed with them. I've bought stuff from them before and they are EXTREMELY reliable. When you have an issue, you deal with Steve Whalen directly. Not too worried about it now. Just gotta get that gouge taken out now...

What did you pay for them?

or if you got a combo what was the price? I would not epoxy, etc.. them back on, If they are defective they are defective, use this as a chance to exchange them for better rims.

Take 'em all off and clean off the remaining tape gunk using bug & tar cleaner or naptha, same stuff. Fake beadlock's on wheels just make 'em look cheap anyway.

Maybe it is too late but why not take off all the glue on stuff and not worry about future falloff?
