I just want to say something to some of you newer guys -->

I've read several of what some of you "newer" folks have posted and such, and I think that you guys need to re-think things before you make decisions. It's very obvious to me that there are many many very immature people here driving 3rd Gen Maximas. You guys can give a bad rep to this group very easily. Messing with cops, or even faking stories about it, isn't cool, it's stupid.

Some of you do pretty stupid mods to your car, I mean, some stuff I've seen is just...well... stupid. And doing stupid things in a stupid car is also stupid. I think I've overused the word stupid.

And you "veteran" folks, please don't let these guys know where most of us post, where we actually have a "cool" group of guys.

And in conclusion, a man cannot be forced to testify againest his wife.

Hear hear dude!

It's unfortunate that such people still continue to have permission to play with mum and dad's computer, but you are right about our one cool hangout. We must ensure it never gets tarnished with the presence of such immature scum.

BTW ... I left a msg for u there about belts for the UDP. Let us know when you get a chance 3#-)

The other BBS is a Pain on the ***.
Other wise i'd use it ALOT more.
I'm lazy and it's hard to read through all that and such.

although i do swing by there occasionally and read up.

Well we have had our share of "stupid" people & posts on the other 3rd Gen board but all in all it is more informational & we don't get as much nonsense as we do here. I visit them both equally

the only reason i go to the other message board(that rules and has people that actually know what they are talking about) is to hear JTR talk about his rear lights and running over his sister and wanting to have sex with his sister. also i think that board needs to steal the script from this message board, the messages are harder to go through on that board. btw, kaleb how are you powder coating parts? did you buy that home kit that uses the oven or something?

Ain't that the truth!!!

Ya know Kaleb, you are absolutely right.(and this, coming from a self-confessed "newbie") I know I haven't been around as long as the rest of you, but I have seen so much nonesense going on, in regards to the wierd mods and cop tales, that it almost (and I say that strongly) made me go and get rid of my Max and fix up my Mustang instead. But I think that listening to a lot of you (Sarah, Matt, Kaleb, etc...) and looking at your websites, gave me some hope that maybe things will change one day. Bottom line though, IMHO, is that the 'vets' should throw that education out there and see who bites.

I've learned a lot by just sitting back and listening to all of you guys (and gals too, Sarah), which I wish others would do sometimes. So, I'll be the vessel, and you can give me the knowledge. I got your back.

Enjoy the ride,

I agree with you brother

I'm 36, the immaturity doesn't impress me at all. I don't want to blame it on age, I wasn't that STUPID when I was young. Kaleb, glad to see someone else here with a head on their shoulder. What's your age?

He's a young pup.. I THINK he's 19.. if that's not correct, it's within a year + or -..
yup yup.. Kaleb's a straight up guy.. I've learned a lot from him, and he's learned a lot from me.. (like sometimes the service manual is wrong!
when you're yanking driveshafts, it's a unbolt, grab, yank procedure.. NOT the manual's unbolt, cover, pry, wedge, shove, pull, pry, yank method..

removing an axle his way: 1 hr.
removing it my way: 30 seconds.

but yeah, he's a good kid.. (not that I'm much older myself)..
It's good to have him as a friend..

"Newbie"

Well said. I'm a "Newbie" but I blow past the bull&*^, I lurk looking for bonafide fixes and some good looking cars.

I own a truck which is my primary ride, I go to another message board for that which isn't filled with the stories or long tales. I appreciate the webmaster of this site for his efforts.

I personally think its just as immature to post a complaint to all the people that do stupid mods to they're car and leave stupid messages. wastes just as much time.

I thought this board was for maxima owners to post whatever they want. Why discourage max owners to post whats on there mind or about there experiences. It is somewhat entertaining to me.

newbies

Hm, interesting post. I don't often post here. well, when i do, I go all out haha. But i've been here for 3 months now, so im not really a newbie anymore. I always switch from board to board. ie: bmw, nissan, vw etc...Not to mention the fact that my life revolves around cars. Don't forget that SOME newbies could one day be the matts kevs and chris' u know today on this bbs so do not judge lest ye be judged! haha.
ps: the maximas been in our family for a while, it's like a sibling to me.

I agree with both sides of the coin. I barely post in this 3rd gen forum because of all the immaturity etc. Actually i've noticed that a lot of the veterans barely post here. I think ive seen more in this thread than in this forum since its been up ... what are you going to do though...people think the maxima is like a civic or whatever and conform to the norms that aftermarket companies are creating honda and acura or whatever. people have there opinions on what is good for the max and what sucks...i personally hate the clear tail, single wiper, stickers etc or whatever but some people wanna do stupid things to use kalebs term ...im just rambling and probably haven't made a point so ill shut up now...

I agree, but there are three types (maybe 4) of people that are here:

1. Those that want their maxima to look and perform "nice".
2. Those that think their maxima is the best fastest thing that ever existed and can beat a Ferrari F355 F1 easily.
3. Those that are here for the information or for ideas of what to do to their maximas and learn from other mistakes.
4. Those that are here just to **** people off.

I think that I'm here for reasons 1 and 3 (and to help other out that have problems).

i am a "newbie" and i am also about as young as they come and i think this message is directed toward me. i dont think it is right to say that i am stupid because i want to have a nice car or because i want to modify it. that in itself is dumb, if anything you should try and help newer guys getting into this sort of thing.

That was not meant for you! There is a big difference between asking questions, and claiming to have all the answers.

Re: not you

I agree with you guys,

I hate hearing what sounds like made up stories and hearing about stupid ghetto rides and how they have done dumb things to their cars. But it sux when i post a story and i am doubted because of so many people lying. that's what's getting the most annoying. That and hearing about how great someones ride is and then see a post about how it's making funny noises. anyway that's it

Yeah I know...I have to post a picture of (whatever) to prove to someone that I actually have (or had) that mod. That includes timeslips, etc.

At an import show here in Omaha this past summer, there were a sh!tload of "Type-R" wannbe's and there was only one guy with a REAL TYPE-R integra. No one believed him either. This guy actually had to get out his window sticker from the dealer to prove it to all of these lamers. This is what I'm talking about here. It's like your guilty until proven innocent. I think that there I alot of B.S. that floats about on this BBS and some of it just has GOT TO STOP!!!

Chris it alright I have no friends that have maximas. Only one kid in my school owns one. I know another kid outside school with a 95 max but he acts like a ahole because he thinks his car is the sh*t after he puts some chinese graphics and a performance muffler on his car.
